Homemade Tincture
Yield: 250 mL
- 50 g dry element
- 300 g neutral spirit (190 proof grain alcohol, ex. Everclear)
- Combine dry element and neutral spirit.
- Let steep at room temperature for at least 1 day, but ideally 1 week for best extraction.
- Strain liquid part and bottle.
Homemade Liqueur (20% abv, 33 Brix)
Yield: a bit more than 1 L
- 50 g dry element
- 300 g neutral spirit (190 proof grain alcohol, ex. Everclear)
- 600 g water
- 400 g sugar
Yield: 250 mL
- 10 g dry element
- 60 g neutral spirit (190 proof grain alcohol, ex. Everclear)
- 120 g water
- 80 g sugar
- Combine dry element and neutral spirit.
- Let steep at room temperature for at least 1 day, but ideally 1 week for best extraction.
- Strain liquid part. This is the tincture.
- Combine water and sugar to form a 2/3 simple syrup.
- Blend tincture and syrup and bottle.
